مجھ کو ایک مدت سے یہ وہم لاحق ہے 
میں چاہت نہ سہی, وہ مجھےسوچتا تو ہوگا 

عرصے دراز کی باتیں ہیں کون یاد رکھے 
مگر ہمارا دل یہ کہتا ہے وہ راہ تکتا تو ہوگا 

نہ ہے مجبوری ,نہ کوئی کام اسےمجھ سے
شاید میرےہم نام پر وہ کبھی مڑتا تو ہوگا 

نہ وہ ضدی ہے نہ اڑیل مزاج نہ ہی اناپرست 
اسی بہانے میرے ذکر پر وہ یونہی رکتا تو ہوگا 

خوش مزاج و خوش شکل سا انسان ہے وہ 
پھر میرے لیے  بھی خوامخواہ مسکراتا تو ہوگا

چند سال نہیں تو کچھ مہینے تو گزارے اکھٹے 
محبت ناممکن ہے محسن مگر پسند کرتا تو ہوگا
